Happy New Year!

Where to start? Let’s start with December. Cori took her first steps on Dec 14th. It was about 4 in the afternoon and she just walked into the middle of the living room. Of course once I set up the video camera she wouldn’t do it again. A month later and you can’t stop her. She is practically running! She is still a bit shaky and doesn’t like to walk in strange places but I’m fine with not having to chase her down the aisles at the store just yet.

Cori visited Santa for the first time and she wasn’t sure about him. After about 30 seconds she started screaming. She doesn’t have stranger anxiety but this started a separation anxiety trend that I hope goes away soon! Before we visited Santa we had some family pictures taken.

It was so wonderful to see Cori light up during the Christmas holiday. On Christmas Eve we spent the evening with Grandma and Grandpa Barts and Unkie Matt. We had a nice dinner and opened presents.

She had fun tearing the paper up but didn’t quite understand. When we got home Cori went right to bed and Santa’s elf got to building! We got everything set up and had some Champagne to toast a job well done.

There is no way to describe the look on your child’s face and they discover the toys under the tree! She pointed and said “gee”? “Gee” means a lot of things, an exclamation, a question, and most of all a demand! After she explored what Santa had left her we headed down to Greenwood to Aunt Melissa’s house for dinner and more presents.

All and all it was a good couple of days. We finally made it back home and all Cori wanted was to play there was no time for changing diapers, or bath time, or even eating!

Grandma and Grandpa Larson have been spending a lot of time with us as they are moving back to Indy. They should be closing on their house in Fishers any day now. Cori has really enjoyed having so many people to play with besides Mommy. Daddy was home with us for the last 2 weeks of the year! When he went back to work on the 4th she really missed him. That morning she stood at the bottom of the stairs exclaiming “dadadadada”. Somebody is a Daddy’s girl!
Now that the holidays are over Cori and I are back to a normal schedule. We all had a bug similar to the flu last week and boy am I glad we are all through it! Corinne is now doing something new almost every day. Giving kisses is her favorite right now, also sharing Molly’s bone. Cori’s new word is “dat?” And of course uses her middle finger to point at everything, including people! Her favorite food is yogurt and cheese, her least favorite is meat. This week we’ll be trying tofu to get some protein in her!

We’ll have more to report after her first birthday!
